Los Angeles-based  Tyler Stone, is a pioneering producer, remixer, DJ and vocalist who is recognized as one of the first female house music producers. Known for her distinctive style rooted in deep house, disco, and downtempo, she has achieved multiple top ten Billboard Dance hits.

After receiving a degree in Jazz from Cornish College of the Arts, Tyler relocated to San Francisco to join the legendary Third Floor Productions where she honed her skills under the tutelage of the masterful DJ EFX, and began showcasing her talents with some of Dance and Pop music’s finest artists.  This lead to a string of releases and remixes under the alias “Ms T” on numerous esteemed dance labels such as Strictly Rhythm, Eightball, and Henry Street, with name acts including Armand Van Helden, Robin S, Crystal Waters, Kimara Lovelace and N’SYNC. As an integral part of the 90’s San Francisco dance music scene, Tyler went on to open her own studio, Ms T Productions, and became a sought-after engineer and producer within the house music community, working along side such producers as Miguel Migs and Grammy nominated Jay-J and Chris Lum.

Without skipping a beat, Tyler remains at the forefront of the industry, lending her sophisticated programming to new releases, remixes and collaborations on reputable labels including Nervous, Large and Aventura. Channeling the disco, funk and soul of her youth, and the house music of the early 90’s, Stone’s production is a masterclass in how to honor the past while remaining faithful to the essence of modern dance music. Tyler’s tracks have a magic that draws you into the essence of the song.  “As a vocalist myself, I tend to pay special attention to how the vocals interact both rhythmically and melodically with the rest of the track.”  But make no mistake, at the core of every track she produces is a beat-driven masterpiece.

Beyond the studio, Tyler’s production savvy extends to her DJ sets, spinning deep house, disco and downtempo.  Whether opening for Little Dragon, or spinning at exclusive after-parties for Thievery Corporation and Mayer Hawthorne’s Tuxedo, Tyler always delivers an infectious groove. She has held residencies at the W Hotel and Ian Schrager’s Clift Hotel and frequently performs at high-profile events for organizations like SFMOMA and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

In addition to her musical accomplishments, Tyler is an active voting member of the Recording Academy (GRAMMY’s) and has served as a National Trustee and Governor for the San Francisco and Pacific NW Chapters.  She has proudly contributed to various committees focused on the awards process, membership, advocacy, and community outreach, further solidifying her role as a respected leader in the music industry.
